Over the decades, classrooms have continued to develop into a very different learning environment, such as smaller class sizes, more and varying facilities and collaborative working areas.
Teachers and schools have begun to explore the opportunities that are presented when students are given greater freedom for collaboration and discussion, including a vast amount and variety of teaching tools as seen in the example above.
The colours that are used in a classroom environment have been shown to make a difference in the stimulation and retention of information in students (Smith Co., 2019). Students interaction with one another and the seating that allows for this, including improved comfort, also greatly contributes to the potential for students to learn in these environments.
Below are examples of flexible seating classrooms that this stool project is aiming to adequately compliment in order to further the learning opportunities that students are presented with.
